Coastal Church Wedding | Karen & Josh

This day.

I’m honoured that I got to be in attendance, let alone be the one to capture their day.

First let me say that many of us know and love Karen as a Pastor at Coastal Church. I had the privilege of learning under her as an intern for the year of 2011. She is kind, and sweet, artistic and so very thoughtful and genuine. I know that many people, including myself, have been praying for her husband for many years so this day was truly a day of rejoicing.

If you were to read the label on Josh Kepkay it would say 100% husband material. Lol. The man is truly awesome. He is thoughtful and kind. Josh whole heartedly pursued Karen. She shared in an e-mail, “In my prayer over the years, I had asked the Lord to bring someone bold, a man of action who would jump over a tall fence to conquer me, who sees me beyond being a pastor, and who would not be intimidated to approach me. Someone with a desire to get to know me as Karen, not Pastor Karen. I also asked for someone whom I can pray and grow together with.” Josh truly did jump over a tall fence to pursue Karen. He is a Vancouver realtor who has helped so many people find their dream homes throughout the lower mainland. If you’re looking for a home or wanting to sell yours I highly recommend Josh.

Since these two officially started dating during the pandemic I feel that it is my duty to confirm how fabulous they are together since many people haven’t really had the privilege of third wheeling them as a couple like I have! They are such a great match. They complement one another with their contrasting personalities, they are easy to be around as Josh is constantly making Karen laugh, and they both set you at ease.

Their wedding day began with door games and a tea ceremony at the Wong residence where Josh had to earn his way upstairs to his bride by completing various obstacles put in place by Karen’s amazing sisters. From there we went downtown Vancouver for their intimate ceremony at Coastal Church followed by an evening at Granville island.
